Girl Scout Honor

Breanne Lubinsky of Newtown has earned her Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting. To earn the Gold Award, senior and ambassador level Girl Scouts between the ages of 14 and 17 spend at least 80 hours researching issues, assessing community needs and resources, building a team, and making a sustainable impact in their community. Breanne’s Gold Award Project, “Chapel Trails,” included creating four gardens and restoring  two trails around an outdoor chapel for a local church. She also created ID cards for plants. Breanne planted perennials in the gardens so the plants will come back every year. She is currently a business major at Bryant University.
