How To Make Your Home Reflect Your Personality

WASHINGTON — On Thursday, June 28, at 6:30 pm, local author Elaine Ryan will talk about her new book Color Your Life: How to Design Your Home with Colors from Your Heart. The free program will be at Gunn Memorial Library, on Wykeham Road at Route 47 opposite Washington Green.

Ms Ryan will discuss how to experiment with beautiful, bold, and ageless color schemes for the home without making mistakes. She will also cover how to make a home reflect one’s personality.

The author remarks in her book, “We say that we ‘see red,’ are ‘green with envy,’ or we are ‘feeling blue.’ These associations of mood with color are no accidents of the English language. They are living proof that color is basic to our lives. Color, truly, is the language of living.”

Elaine Ryan, an interior designer for more than thirty years, is the cofounder of the Phoenix chapter of the International Interior Designers Association and is the inventor of the patented Color Bars color matching system. She has been featured in major publications, including The New York Daily News and the Chicago Sun-Times, for her expertise on color in the interior environment.

Call the library at 860-868-7586 for further information.
