Warrant Arrest

Police arrested a 17-year-old person on a warrant on June 13, charging the person with failure to respond to an infraction and with simple trespassing.

The person turned him/herself over to police at the police station. The simple trespassing charge stems from an incident that occurred last November 10 at Fairfield Hills, the town-owned complex that formerly was a state psychiatric hospital.

The person who received the infraction ticket neither paid it, nor pleaded not guilty to the offense, so police rearrested the person on the warrant.

After arrest processing, the person paid $92 bail and was released for July 6 arraignment on the charges in Danbury Youthful Offender Court. State law shields the identity of people under age 18 who are charged with crimes.

Point O’ Rocks Road

Police report a motor vehicle accident on Point O’ Rocks Road, a narrow, curving dirt road that links Boggs Hill Road to Deep Brook Road.

The collision occurred about 6 pm June 11. It involved motorist Christopher Leibold, 17, of 7 Steck Drive, who was driving a 1999 Dodge Durango sport-utility vehicle, and motorist Susan Corleto, 49, of 6 Whitewood Road, who was driving a 2004 Honda Pilot sport-utility vehicle, police said. The accident also involved a noncontact vehicle.

Police issued Leibold a written warning for failure to keep to the right on a curve.

Truck Vs Car

About 7 pm June 11, motorist Robert C. Elliot, Jr, 45, of 34 Cobblers Mill Road, who was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry, was waiting at a red traffic signal on Wasserman Way, at its intersection with Route 34, police said.

At that time, a red tractor-trailer truck, which possibly has Florida marker plates, made a left turn from Route 34 onto Wasserman Way. As the truck was making the turn, its left rear wheels struck the Toyota, but the truck continued traveling onward on Wasserman Way, police said.

Elliot was not injured.

Police said the truck could not be located in the area. Police ask anyone with information on the identity of the trucker to contact Officer Steve Ketchum at the police station at 426-5841.
