IRON COLLECTORS TO CONVENE AUGUST 3–4 w/1 cut

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. — The 23rd annual Midwest Sad Iron Collectors Club (MSICC) Convention is set for August 3–4 at the Radisson Indianapolis Airport Hotel.

This annual convention is the premier gathering of all iron collectors with members and guests attending from across the United States and abroad.

This year’s convention will be highlighted by expert speakers on irons and other laundry-related items. Lynn Rosack, author of A–Z Guide to Trivets will be one of the guest speakers and presenters. Other activities will include a Friday morning tour of the Indianapolis Raceway track, highlighted with banquet dinners on Friday and Saturday nights.

The iron collections of Floyd Wolters and John and Marjorie Lloyd will be auctioned off before the club’s convention on August 1–2 at the Radisson Indianapolis Airport Hotel. There will be approximately 900 irons and related laundry items for sale. The auction is open to the general public.

The MSICC, founded in 1984 in Owatonna, Minn., is dedicated to service worldwide iron collectors and is dedicated to furthering the many aspects of the collecting of pressing irons and encourages fellowship among pressing iron collectors. The club membership lists more than 300 families, with members from 42 states, Australia, Canada, England, France, Germany, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, Scotland, Spain and Switzerland.

The club’s quarterly newsletter, Pressing News, serves as an information exchange about pressing irons. In addition, laundry-related articles, books and pamphlets may be borrowed by stateside members from the club’s lending library.
