The following letter has been received for publication in The Newtown Bee.

Dear Fellow Newtowners:

Like it or not, further development is coming to our town! I suggest we take out our checkbooks, put our money where our mouths are, and donate whatever we can afford to the Newtown Forest Association. This organization strives to conserve and protect open spaces in our community.

If you wish to maintain the rural character (or what is left of it) of our town, donate to the NFA so that they have the funds to buy land when it comes available. The property they may purchase may not be in your backyard, but it will be in some Newtown’s backyard.
