Stanley G. Germain, 73, of Vernon, died June 12, at Hartford Hospital. Born April 16, 1940, in Cambridge, N.Y., son of Rose (Geaudreau) and Raymond Germain, he lived in Long Island, N.Y., and Dallas, Penn., prior to moving to Vernon last year.

His children Kelly Patti, and her husband Daniel, of Newtown and Brent Germain, and his wife Laura, of Glastonbury; four grandchildren; his siblings Raymond Germain and Mary Anne Germain; his longtime companion Janet Bonk; his former wife Catherine Keenan; and several nieces and nephews survive Mr Germain.

Mr Germain held a BA from SUNY Potsdam and went onto earn a master’s degree in music education and school business administration.

He enjoyed sailing, skiing, and golfing, and volunteered at several homeless shelters.

Funeral service will take place Saturday, June 15, at 1 pm, in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, 1318 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, June 14, from 6 to 8 pm.
