Anna Benedetto Gargano, 95, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Joseph Gargano, died June 11, at Carolton Chronic Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport June 24, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Vito and Erminia Gallucci Benedetto.

Survivors include a son, Joseph Gargano, Jr, and his wife Anne, of Newtown; a daughter, Mary Fogel, and her husband Sheldon, of Southport; a brother, William Benedetto of Trumbull; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by nine brothers and two sisters.

Mrs Gargano enjoyed visiting the casinos, making great dinners for the holidays, and producing everyone’s favorite meatballs and macaroni with her delicious gravy. Her greatest joy was spending time her family.

She was a member of the St Raphael and St Margaret Shrine Altar Guild.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Carolton Chronic & Convalescent Hospital for the care and compassion extended to Mrs Gargano and the family over her four years there.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, June 15, at 9:30 am, from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 am, in St Margaret’s Shrine, Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Saturday morning from 8:30 am until the time of service.
