Student Show At Craft Center

BROOKFIELD — Brookfield Craft Center is preparing its first student show in many years. Entitled “The Journey of Discovery,” the multi-media group show will open in the Lynn Tendler Bignell Gallery on June 15 and run through August 3.

An opening reception will be held on Sunday, June 15, from 2 to 4 pm, with a special curator’s talk at 3 pm.

Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays, noon to 5 pm.

Curated by Kristin Muller, the craft center’s education director, in concert with BCC’s core faculty members, the exhibition provides a special showcase of the many talents of the center’s students. Works on view will represent the efforts of 62 artists.

Work on display will represent the wide range of media and processes that are taught in our many classes. The wide ranging show also spotlights the amazing creativity, craftsmanship and design skills the students possess, and it will provide a look into their journeys of discovery as they pursue their passion for making art. The work on display will also highlight the hard work and great imagination our students employ.

The Lynn Tendler Bignell Gallery is within Brookfield Craft Center’s main mill building, a circa 1780s restored grist mill at 286 Whisconier Road (Route 25). Call 775-4526 or visit BrookfieldCraftCenter.org for additional information.
