SOUTHBURY â Learn ways to âKeep Connectedâ with those challenged by dementia through communication and behavior techniques presented by Carolyn DeRocco, Northwest regional director of the Alzheimerâs Association, Connecticut Chapter.
On June 30, from 1 to 3 pm, Brownstein Jewish Family Service is hosting a free family training seminar where caregivers will be given tools needed to provide care for persons with dementia. This program is open to the public and takes place in the library at the Jewish Federation, 444 Main Street North.
Participants will learn how dementia impacts communication skills; communication strategies that work; and strategies to manage and validate challenging behaviors.
