Dual Assault

State police report that Garner Correctional Institution inmate Vincent Turnbull, 37, threatened violence before an incident that occurred at the state’s high-security prison on Nunnawauk Road on the night of June 5.

During the incident, Turnbull grabbed the neck of a correction officer, injuring it, and then bit the wrist of another correction officer, injuring it, according to state police.

After investigating, state police arrested Turnbull on two counts of assault on a public safety officer. Turnbull was scheduled for arraignment on the charges on June 6 in Danbury Superior Court.

Turnbull is serving a four-year sentence in Garner on a conviction for second-degree burglary.
