Garden Of Ideas In Bloom For Season

RIDGEFIELD — “Life Stages,” an exhibition of oil paintings by Ann Chapin Fischer, has opened at the

Garden of Ideas gallery in Ridgefield. The exhibition will remain on view until June 29.

Ms Fischer, who lives in Ridgefield, started painting in 1998 after leaving a job on Wall Street. Much of her

work is inspired by nature.

Italian artist Alexander Shundi has said Fischer’s artwork reveals “who she is, what she loves and fears, her sweetest and most terrible thoughts, connections between birth and death, sorrow and joy, mineral and organic. Looking at the canvases, one feels a familiarity, almost a revelation, with deep sentiments and physical impulses, at times seeing what we feel with our eyes closed. “

The Garden of Ideas is an organic farm and arboretum. Art is an important component of the gardens. An interior gallery space and extensive outdoor sculpture collection provide an added dimension to the horticultural displays.

Gallery shows change monthly. Ms Fradet’s show kicks off the 2008 season of exhibitions.

The Garden of Ideas is at 647 North Salem Road. Gallery hours are weekends only from 10 am to 4 pm. Call 203-431-9914 or visit GardenOfIdeas.com for additional information.
