Are We Being Realistic About FFH?

To the Editor:

I would like to thank the editor for a wonderful editorial regarding strategic planning in the May 30 newspaper [“Talking About The Future Here And Now”]. Fairfield Hills has had two wonderful citizens, Herb Rosenthal and Ruby Johnson, working tirelessly for the public interest. They have been model citizens in seeking the truth, as they see it.

Perhaps the problems that have occurred at FFH are the result of the public expecting too much and not being willing to properly finance the costly project.

It is now time for us to be realistic about the property’s potential and the willingness of private enterprise to fund and occupy it, given the constraints the town has placed upon it.
