The Pole Bridge Preserve

To the Editor:

I wish to thank all those who worked to make the open house for the Pole Bridge Preserve so wonderful! The dedication was the culmination of a year’s worth of hard work by the Newtown Open Space Task Force, Trust for Public Land, Aragones family, and the DEP. The wonderful turnout of the public and the cooperation of nature made for an exciting day!

Thanks to our visiting and local naturalists who were fountains of information for all to drink their fill. Thank you to the town leaders, selectman, and Legislative Council for continuing to support the task force –– in particular, Herb Rosenthal, who has given the charge of this committee weight and access to many town resources. I very much appreciate the town departments and commissions of land use, park and rec, public works, police, conservation, and P&Z for answering the calls for assistance and offering their time. I am always amazed at the devotion of our task force members who constantly work for Newtown’s open space. Finally, I wish to thank the Aragones family who, with some sense of selflessness, has given to Newtown some of the gifts, which they have received from living here in this great town.

Thank you again to all have dedicated so much!

Sincerely,

Rob Sibley

Chairman

Newtown Open Space Task Force
