Literacy Volunteers To Hold Benefit

WATERBURY — Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury will host “Fruits of the Vine,” a gala wine tasting dinner and auction, at Saint Margaret’s-McTernan School on Saturday, June 21, beginning at 6:30 pm.

Noted ESPN sports commentator Chris Berman will help Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury kick off its largest fundraiser of the year by manning an auction that will feature a variety of select items. An array of gourmet foods complimented by selections of fine wines will precede the silent and live auctions.

Tickets are $45 per person or $400 for a table of ten. A portion of all contributions are tax deductible.

Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury is part of a national network of community based education program which teach functionally illiterate adults how to read, write and compute so they may be productive members of society.

For tickets or more information call Literacy Volunteers of Great Waterbury at 203-754-1164. The school is at 565 Chase Parkway; directions are available from the phone number above.
