Florence (Ross) Arrigone, 83, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on June 4, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late John B. Arrigone of Danbury.
Florence was born in Danbury on February 10, 1920, daughter of the late John D. and Nellie Ross.
Florence will be extremely missed by her beloved son, Jon and his wife, Marianne Russo-Arrigone, of Hamden; her daughter, Jacqueline and her husband, Florindo Trofa, of Danbury; her three brothers, Joseph Ross of Danbury, Carlo Ross of Charlestown, R.I., and Robert Ross of Danbury; her six sisters, Marie (Ross) Piskura of Newtown, Filomena âTootsieâ (Ross) Sostak of Shelton, Susan (Ross) Gervasoni of Danbury, Frances (Ross) Rudy of Ocala, Fla., Dorothy (Ross) Owen of South Carolina, and Ana Mae (Ross) Gankos of Castleberry, Fla; her four beloved granddaughters, Danielle R. and Monica R. Arrigone of Hamden, and Venessa A. and Helena A. Trofa of Danbury; an aunt, Mrs Carlo Ross; many cousins; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Florence was predeceased by her husband, John B. Arrigone, and three brothers John Ross, Anthony Ross, and Michael Ross.
Florence had been employed by Bard-Parker during World War II. She was a homemaker and was later employed by Messinger Manufacturing Corporation of Bethel. During her retirement, she was a chef for Edelweiss Caterers.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place on June 9 at St Peter Church in Danbury. Burial followed in St Peter Cemetery.
Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, was in charge of arrangements.
