Handley Tipton

Handley Tipton, 76, of 181 Camden Avenue, Buckhannon, W. Va., and formerly of Newtown, died June 2 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va., following a brief illness. He was born February 24, 1925, the son of the late Henry and Ella (Fower) Tipton.

Mr Tipton retired from the state of Conn with 30 years of service as farm superintendent. He was a member of Hirman Lodge No 18 and Hirman Chapter No 1, Royal Arch Masons. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Navy.

Mr Tipton was preceded in death by his first and second wives, Glades Peck of Newtown and Martha Rose of Lansing, Mich.

Surviving are one daughter, Eva Renusson, and two grandsons, all of Mich.; one sister, Lucy Taylor of Canton, Ohio; one brother, Henry Tipton of Lodi, Ohio; one half sister, Bertha Madison; and two half brothers, Troy and Orval Tipton of W. Va.

Funeral services were held June 5 at the Boyle Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev Robert Heater officiating. Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery at Marlington, W. Va., with Masonic rites by the Marlington Lodge.
