A Grateful School Board
A Grateful School Board
To the Editor:
It is with great pride and gratitude that the Newtown Board of Education received the townâs endorsement of our proposal to build a new grade 5/6 school.
We would like to acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of the many people who made this possible. We credit the diligence, perseverance, and dedication of the âSave our Schoolâ volunteers who worked behind the scenes, making phone calls, mustering support, and rallying the citizens of our town. We owe a debt of gratitude to the administrative teaching and support staff of the Newtown School District who offered their vital insight to this project. To the various town boards and commissions, in particular the Public Building and Site Commission, we thank you for your thorough reviews and on-time approvals. To the First Selectman and the members of the Legislative Council: Your willingness to listen and to work with us in a spirit of cooperation are much appreciated. And finally, a resounding Thank You to the people of Newtown, for your trust and support.
The return on this investment will stand for many years to come as a source of pride for our children and our community as a whole.
With Gratitude
The Newtown Board of Education
