Roger D. Bjornberg, Jr

Dearly Missed By Those Whose Lives He Touched

Roger David Bjornberg, Jr, 41, died suddenly, May 31, at his home in Hooksett, N.H. Mr Bjornberg was born October 1, 1967, in Washington, D.C., the son of Sharon (Hartigen) and Roger D. Bjornberg, Sr, and grew up in Newtown.

He is survived by his parents, longtime former residents of Newtown; his loving wife Tyisha (Reed) Bjornberg; four children; his sisters, and one brother; as well as several other family members.

Mr Bjornberg graduated from Providence College in 1989 and moved shortly thereafter to New Hampshire. The “Live Free or Die” state motto became his mantra.

He was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He remembered his birthday, October 1, 1967, more fondly as the “Day the Red Sox won the Pennant.”

Mr Bjornberg was a board member for Hooksett Youth Athletic Association and a beloved coach for Little League, soccer, and basketball for many years.

He loved his family, good humor, political debate, playing the piano, quoting stats of legendary sports figures, and reading just about anything, plus numerous other pastimes. He was considered by those who knew him to be an amazing husband, father, son, brother, coach, and friend.

He was a “Friend of Bill’s” and a man of faith. Always a fierce competitor, he fought cancer with the strength and attitude of a true champion.

A celebration of Mr Bjornberg’s life was held June 4 in Manchester, N.H., with a Mass of Christian Burial on June 5.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bjornberg Memorial Fund, Bank of America, 1090 Hooksett Road, Hooksett NH 03106.
