Utility Pole

Police report that motorist Elmer Bollat, 27, of Bridgeport was driving an unspecified vehicle near 40 Cedar Hill Road about 5:39 am on June 8, when the vehicle collided with a utility pole. Bollat was not injured.

Police said they arrested Bollat on charges of reckless driving, making a restricted turn, and driving without a license.

Police said they held Bollat on $500 bail for an appearance that day in Danbury Superior Court.

Briefcase Gone

Sometime between 7 pm on June 4 and 7:30 am on June 5, someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked along Overlook Drive and stole a leather briefcase from within it, police report. Overlook Drive is a dead-end street off Mt Pleasant Road.

Officer John McCluskey is investigating the case of sixth-degree larceny and asks anyone with information on the incident to contact him at the police department at 426-5841.

Lincoln Vs Chevrolet

About 8:47 am on June 10, motorist Vincent Carrera, 53, of West Haven, who was driving a commercial 2008 Chevrolet Express van northward on Berkshire Road, near its intersection with Wasserman Way, stopped for a red traffic signal, police report.

Northbound motorist Natalie Collins, 21, of Monroe, who was driving a 2002 Lincoln LS sedan, then drove into the rear end of the Chevrolet, police said.

There were no injuries. Police issued Collins a written warning for following to closely.
