Friends Of The Library Planning 34th Annual Book Sale
The Friends of the Cyrenius H. Booth Library Annual Book Sale will be held Saturday, July 11, through Wednesday, July 15, at Reed Intermediate School, 3 Trades Lane. Shopping hours will be Saturday and Sunday, July 11 and 12, 9 am to 5 pm; Monday and Tuesday, July 13 and 14, 9 am to 7 pm; and on Wednesday, July 15, the sale will end at 1 pm.
Patrons can browse the more than 80 categories of 120,000 carefully organized and alphabetized books, CDs, records, and movies in a spacious, climate-controlled facility with ample parking and other amenities.
In light of the poor economy, this yearâs Saturday adult admission is only $5, down from the usual $10 charged in previous years. An additional $1 off card is available at the library as well. Members of the Friends of the Library will get in free with their specially marked card.
Tickets will be available at the book sale site beginning at 7 am on Saturday morning, with no advanced sales.
Again this year, Visa and MasterCard will be accepted for purchases.
Of special interest is material for Civil War buffs, train fans, and a collection of CDs for jazz aficionados. Bird lovers will want to consider the 37 Peterson field guides with gold trimmed pages. Collectors will appreciate the complete set of leather-bound, 11th edition Encyclopedia Britannica, and the Self-Instructor for the Ukulele and Taro-Patch Fiddle by Major Kealakai (20th edition, revised and enlarged, 1914), a paperback with a photo of Major Kealakai and his Glee Club on the cover.
More information on the sale and the rare book/collectible offerings can be found at CHBoothLibrary.org/BookSale.php.
The nonfiction section features a wide range of categories, including art, architecture, history, biography, cooking, health, gardening, finance, travel, computers, and religion. The always-popular childrenâs section offers fiction and nonfiction books organized by reading level, format, series, and popular topics of interest for every age group, toddler to teenager.
Monday is half-price day, Tuesday is $5 for a bag, and on Wednesday everything is free.
The sale is sponsored by The Friends of the Cyrenius H. Booth Library, and all proceeds will benefit the library.
