Occupation: I am an engineering manager with Kendro Laboratory Products on Peck’s Lane. I have a degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Bridgeport.

How Long in Newtown: I have lived in Newtown for five years, but I have worked in Newtown for over 17 years. My wife grew up in Newtown. I was born and raised in Bridgeport.

Biggest Change Seen in Town: Between working here and coming here on Sunday drives for years, the biggest change I’ve seen is in the growth and the amount of traffic in town.

Family: My wife Carol and I have been married for 14 years. We have two sons, Nicholas, 10, and Alexander, 7. They both attend Hawley School.

Pets: We have a Cocker Spaniel puppy that is one year old.

Hobbies: I play tennis and golf and enjoy fishing with the kids. I spend a lot of time assisting coaches for Babe Ruth baseball.

Favorite Books and Authors: I love to read, especially suspense and mystery books. I particularly enjoy books by John Grisham. I also love books on United States history, particularly the Civil War era.

Favorite TV Show: I absolutely don’t want to miss The West Wing on Wednesday nights.

Organizations: I belong to the Newtown Tennis Association and am vice chairman of the Newtown Board of Education. I served on the School Space Needs Committee in 1998, which was a step to getting on the Board of Ed. I was appointed by the Board of Selectmen to fill a vacant position, and since have been elected to the board.

Most Vivid Memory of Newtown: The thing I love about Newtown is its beauty, especially in the fall with the foliage. It makes the drive to work very enjoyable.

Favorite Vacation Spot: I love going to the Belgrade Lakes region of Maine. Lancaster County, Pa., is another enjoyable spot. That’s where I got hooked on the Civil War. We visited Gettysburg several times. When I viewed the horror of what they went through there, it was a very emotional thing for me.

Personal Philosophy: I feel like you should treat everyone the way you want to be treated, with honesty, courtesy, and fairness.
