Trucks Deliver A Successful Fundraiser
To the Editor:
On June 6, Merryhill Child Care Center, Inc held a Touch-A-Truck event at the Newtown Youth Academy as part of our on-going 25th anniversary celebration. It was a great pleasure to see children and adults of all ages enjoying the spectacular variety of vehicles, food, and activities.
We would like to thank everyone who attended and supported this fantastic fundraising event for our nonprofit childcare center. We would also like to extend a tremendous thank you to NYA, especially Coach Rob, Nick and the NYA staff, for their wonderful support and for allowing us the use of their beautiful facility.
Sincere appreciation goes to Franco’s Pizza of Newtown, Rita’s of Bethel and Bakes N Cakes of Southbury for all of the delicious food. Thank you to NUSAR, Alan Potter from Newtown Arbor Services, Newtown Hook & Ladder, Ray Capella and Scott from JRG Transportation, Mark Whitlock from Sega Ready Mix, Inc and the Newtown Public Works Department for allowing the children (and adults) to explore and enjoy your vehicles.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the many volunteers and, of course, to the Merryhill staff, families, alumni, board of directors, and event planning committee members for your ongoing support and dedication to our center. If you haven’t visited our center recently, please stop by for the upcoming open houses to see the many renovations we have made as part of our 25th anniversary. Open Houses are scheduled for Saturdays, June 13 and 27, from 9 to 11 am. We at Merryhill look forward to another 25 years of providing loving and quality childcare to Newtown families and surrounding towns.
With warm regards,
Karen Tuller
