Photographers' Favorites On View
The Flagpole Photographers Camera Club is currently presenting its annual exhibition of members’ works. The collection of nearly 100 photographs is on view in the lower meeting room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street in Newtown, through June 18.
During an opening reception and competition hosted by the club on May 31, the following awards were announced:
Judges Best in Show: “The Dancer” by Erik Landegren;
Dave Kriger Nature Award: “Enders Falls” by Darrell Harrington;
Jeannette Talarino Flower Award: “All The Right Curves” by Doug Bilinski;
Bruce Allen Open Print Award: “Portrait Under The Surface” by Erik Landegren; and
People’s Choice: “The Artist” by Erik Landegren.
In addition, Open Color honors were as follows: first place, “Golden Hour in Malta” by Rhonda Cullens; second, “Night Lights” by Doug Bilinski; third, “Grit versus Determination” by Linda Lubinsky; and honorable mentions, “Cape Elizabeth Sunrise” by Rick Tyrseck and “Snake River Crossing” by Bob Berthier.
Open Monochrome honors were as follows: first, “Just a Rose” by Erik Landegren; second, “Faucet Drip” by Charles Batchelder; third, “Dawn of a New Day” by Luise Susanne Gleason; and honorable mentions, “Bird in the Hand” by Sue Bonacci and “Indiana” by Rick Tyrseck.

This year’s exhibition includes photos taken in Newtown and across the United States as well as in South Africa, Australia, China, England, Malta, Cuba, and Canada.
