Help Wanted To Keep
Local Government Transparent
To the Editor:
Your local government is looking for citizens ages 16 and older to help us create a more open and transparent government system.
The former Legislative Councilâs Ad Hoc Advisory Committee was able to purchase new audio/video equipment for the Newtown Municipal Center to record government meetings. As the new chair of the Legislative Councilâs Administration Committee, I have been tasked to get this effort up and running in cooperation with our first selectman. We are looking for local citizens to operate the audio/video equipment to record government meetings for rebroadcast on Channel 17 and other media platforms. Training will be provided. There will be a modest stipend for those who participate.
If you are interested, please contact the first selectmanâs office at 203-270-4201.
