Freshman Representative

Already ‘A Remarkable Leader’

To the Editor:

Over the last 18 months I have had the pleasure of collaborating with our State Representative Christopher Lyddy on legislation that will ensure that Connecticut’s children with autism receive special services from credentialed providers. Although he is a freshman representative, Christopher Lyddy clearly knows how to navigate the legislative system and has established excellent relationships with other legislators on both sides of the aisle. He has a well-deserved reputation with his colleagues as a “doer” and as a creative, intelligent problem solver.

While my cause was certainly fortunate to have Rep Lyddy as a champion, as a resident of Newtown I was delighted to observe firsthand how effective and efficient our state representative is while representing our local interests, and those of the state at large. Having observed him at work in the Education Committee, as well as on the floor of the House of Representatives, I found his questions to be thoughtful and insightful, and his comments and concerns right on target across a variety of issues.

Rep Lyddy is both articulate and concise. His energy, values, commitment, and intellect are impressive to say the least. He is a truly remarkable leader who has much to contribute to the greater good of our state.

Our legislators and public officials frequently work long and hard on our behalf without us remembering to thank them for doing the good jobs they do — often while the rest of us are home eating dinner and enjoying our families. Rep Lyddy is doing his job exceedingly well, and I for that thank him from the bottom of my heart.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Letso
