NFoM Elects New

Board Of Directors

During its annual meeting on May 18, the members of Newtown Friends of Music (NFoM) celebrated the conclusion of another successful season – its 26th – and elected a new board of directors to serve for the 2004-05 season.

The following directors will serve as officers of the corporation for the next year: President, Ellen Parrella; Vice-President, Cheryl Edelen; Treasurer, Peter Marshall; and Secretary, Ian McMahon.

Re-elected for another term to the board were Jane Conningham, Ernie Jacques, Frederika Leet and William Timmel of Sandy Hook, Lea Nation Kinstler of Bridgewater, and Cheryl P. Edelen, J. Paul Gehrett, Dorothea LaBelle, Peter Marshall, B. Ian McMahon, Alfred T. Parrella, Ellen K. Parrella, Arthur Phillips, Joan Popovic, and Richard Salerno, all of Newtown.

Cathy Smedberg of Woodbury and David Luessenhop of Newtown were two new members added to the board. 

Following the election the new board started preparations for the fall of 2004 and the spring of 2005. Also discussed were possible plans for a special concert in honor of Newtown’s Tercentennial.
