Elinor B. Lyford

Elinor B. Lyford, 67, of Evergreen Road, Sandy Hook, died May 26 in Danbury Hospital.

Elinor was born in New York City on June 29, 1936, a daughter of the late Iago and Eleanor (Gallinger) Galdston. She was a flight attendant for Pan American Airways before her retirement. A resident of Newtown for 16 years, she previously was a longtime resident of Bloomington, Ind.

Survivors include a son, Scott Lyford and his wife Michelle of Rineyville, Ky.; a sister, Elizabeth Storey of Bermuda; a half-sister, Margaret Galdston of Boston, Mass.; three grandchildren, Joshua, Arielle, and Zachery Lyford of Rineyville, Ky., and two nieces.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, June 15, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
