Dorothy Holmes Chasse, 91, of Shelton, died June 8 at Griffin Hospital, Derby. She was the devoted wife of the late Armand Chasse.
She was the beloved mother of Richard Chasse and his wife, Marge, of Newtown, Robert Chasse of Shelton, and Florence Williamson of Derby. She was the loving grandmother of Michael, Bob, Ron, and Rick Chasse, Joann Tregger and Bill Kiely. She also leaves 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, and by a son-in-law, Art Williamson
Mrs Chasse was born in Huntington on December 8, 1912, a daughter of the late Russell and Luella Mae Sweet Holmes, and was a Fairfield and Bridgeport resident for most of her life before moving to Shelton several years ago.
She was a retired machine operator for Harvey Hubbell, and also an avid New York Yankees fan and an avid bowler. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially enjoyed trips to the casino.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 12, at 8:30 am in St Joseph Church, 50 Fremont Place, Shelton. Burial will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. There are no calling hours.
