Newtown 17, Danbury 9 – Mark Fracker pitched four no-hit innings, striking out nine, as Newtown rolled in an opening-night win. Charlie Coates and Fracker drove in three runs apiece while Rich Temple and Andrew Chimileski collected two RBI apiece. Ryan Chapin and Graham Philbrick banged out two hits apiece while Tony Willie and Collin Cieniawa had a hit and two runs scored.

Gruce Tile 6, Edwards Construction 5 – Adam Schankman had two hits and four RBI to lead Gruce to the win. Nick Wolf, Kyle Kromberg and Nic Nazer added two hits each. Anthony Gruce pitched out of a sixth inning jam to preserve the win. For Edwards, Keith McGrath (2 hits). Jeff Spencer and Tyler Edwards banged out doubles. Matt Hamilton turned in a fine pitching performance.

Natalia Kerler 5, Edwards Construction 4 – Kyle O’Connor scored the inning run on an infield hit by Ryan Lasher. Lasher finished with two triples and three RBI while O’Connor belted his fourth homer of the season. Dale Neves chipped in with a base hit. Brian Kuruc, Adam Wenick and Michael Coates had hits. For Edwards, Matt Hamilton and Jeff Spencer doubled in runs while Tyler Edwards, Evan Barreto, Keith McGrath and Tory Deakin all scored.

Natalia Kerler 4, Gruce Tile 3 – Dale Neves tripled in a pair of runs as Kerler rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the top of the sixth to win. Nick Neves had two hits and an RBI while Kyle O’Connor had two hits and two runs scored. Michael Coates pitched two shutout innings with five strikeouts. For Gruce, Nic Nazer and Dominic Fedak had two hits apiece. Anthony Gruce, Adam Schankman and Jeff Keating all scored.

Natalia Kerler 8, Mixed Team 6 – Ryan Lasher blasted a walk-off three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to lift Kerler to the win. Mike Coates and Adam Wenick were on base. Brian Kuruc, Dale Neves and Kyle O’Connor also scored. For the Mixed Team, Tyler Edwards and Peter Young scored two runs apiece while Jeff DiNicola and Joe Fedak played well.

Union Savings Bank 9, BlindsGuys 4 – Ryan Powers tripled twice, singled and scored four runs to lead Union Savings. Ryan Cassidy, Jake Tolson and Greg Frattaroli added two hits apiece. For the BlindsGuys, Jacob Leighton and Michael Gregario played well in the field. Kyler Harmeling had a nice hit and William Arndt pitched well.

Hickey Septic 8, Linden Consulting 6 – Chris Tenney, Connor Blanc, Austin Puleri, Trey Trudell and Sean Burson combined on a four-hitter, with eight strikeouts, to lead Hickey to the win. For Linden Consulting, Brandon Ziman and Richard Sandler each scored twice to lead the offense while Thomas Johnston, Mathew Sharpe, and Sean Fahey all made nice defensive plays to keep the game close.

Linden Consulting 13, Newtown Hardware 1 – Ryan Tita, Ian Kirner, and Kyle Wilcox combined to throw a one-hitter, allowing no walks, and only two base runners over five innings to lift Lindin to the win. Ryan Tita belted two triples and a double, knocking in seven runs on the day.

Linden Consulting 11, Union Savings Bank 1 – Louis Fenaroli collected two hits, Luke Shearin reached base in all four plate appearances and Cole Baldino reached base three times and scored twice to lead the Lindin offense. Ryan Tita, Kyle Wilcox, and Richie Sandler combined to throw the team’s second one-hitter of the weekend.

Minors

Screaming Eagles 12, Westport Worldwide Bombers 3 – Johnny Fracker homered, scored three runs, and pitched two strong innings to lead the Eagles. Sean Maher had a bases clearing triple while JP Stanton and Alex Saviano each scored twice. Amar Agashe had an excellent game defensively while adding two hits, two RBIs and a run scored. For the Bombers, Gary Braun had two hits, two RBIs, a run scored and an excellent defensive game. Cody Williams added two hits while Ryan Schmidt reached base three times and scored twice. Shane Wurtz played well defensively.

Tobin Plumbing 5, Screaming Eagles 5 – James Truckle and Mikey Tobin banged out doubles to power Tobin. Chris Caulfield and Adam Moorehouse also hit the ball hard. For the Eagles, Sean Maher and Johnny Fracker doubled and Spencer Williams made a nice defensive play.

Ferris Acres Creamery 9, Lee J. Demers Builders 7 – Jacob Locorotondo stole two bases and scored twice while Stephen Conway went 2-for-2 to lead the Creamery to the win. Miles LoBuglio and Kaleb Rowe pitched well. Dean Demers and Robby Russo powered the Demers offense in the win. Scott Buchanan and Mike Koch pitched well.

Onex 6, Newtown Bee 5 – Kevin LeBlanc collected a pair of hits while Sam Hill, Zachary Carfi, and Mario Pizighelli all had key hits to lead Onex. For the Bee, Greg Braun, Mike LoBosco and Gabriel Ruiz had key hits as Billy Whittington and Travis Szalay played well in the field.

Onex 6, Ferris Acres Creamery 5 – Kevin LeBlanc had three hits, Anders Fogelberg had a key hit and Dylan O’Connor with a game winning RBI double to lead Onex to the win. For the Creamery, the offense was lead by Mike Allwein (two key hits and several RBIs) and Daniel Gustafson. Defensively, Mike Allwein, Kaleb Rowe and Stephen Conway combined for several key put outs and a rally-ending double play.

BASE Technologies 4, Ferris Acres Creamery 1 – Colton Sposta, Mike Neumann and Matt Spencer had two hits apiece and Chris Otero contributed a run-scoring hit to lead BASE to the win. For the Creamery, Patrick Thornberg had two hits and two stolen bases to power the offense. Mike Allwein played well in the field and Kaleb Rowe had a fine pitching performance.
