The Meat House To Support NHS PBIS Team
Newtown High Schoolâs Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) team is looking forward to Tuesday, June 14, and Tuesday, June 21, when The Meat House, at 266 South Main Street, will donate $1 for every pound of steak tips purchased over the course of the day.
The Meat House is open daily from 9 am until 7 pm, and steak tips cost $9.99 per pound.
The NHS PBIS team is made up by school psychologist Tom Brant, physical education teacher Matt Childs, Assistant Principal Scott Clayton, science teacher Trent Harrison, school psychologist Jennifer Hoag, school counselor Bret Nichols, art teacher Carol Skolas, and school social worker Suzanne Tyler.
The PBIS team works to support positive student attributes through different programs and activities throughout the year. During the 2010-11 academic year some those activities included treating students with perfect attendance to breakfast or brownies created by the Newtown culinary students.
The PBIS team is also recognizing students for their âHAWKSâ behavior. The HAWKS acronym stands for: have respect, act responsibly, work with honesty and integrity, keep high expectations, and support the community.
