The Epitome Of A Team
The Epitome Of A Team
To the Editor:
I am writing to congratulate and thank those involved in the 2011 Newtown Relay For Life. Iâm extremely proud to have worked with such an incredible group of people and want to thank them all for their efforts. This group was the epitome of a team. As a representative of the Newtown Youth Academy, it was an honor to be able to host this great community event. The new location â in front of the NYA â was spectacular.
It gave me the chills to just simply step back and watch all that was going on. Addie Sandler, Michelle Babyak, and Debbie Colgan led an inspiring group of people to raise well over $100,000. Thank you.
My dad passed away of colon cancer in 2006 when I was a sophomore at UConn â a life-altering event. It is events like Relay, however, that allow me to reflect on his life and it brings great gratitude to know that people really do care in our community. To hold an event this size and have it run without a hitch is a credit to the committee; it was a pleasure working with you all.
Thank you for allowing our facility to be the forefront of the night. This was my first Relay, and because of last weekendâs event it wonât be my last. I encourage those who did not attend the event to consider stopping by next year.
On behalf of all of our staff at NYA, thank you for allowing us to be a part of it.
