Newtown Scholarship Association Golf Fundraiser
Seeking Sponsors, Players
Sponsorship opportunities remain open, as does player registration, for Newtown Scholarship Associationâs (NSA) 19th Annual Jack Friel Memorial Golf Scramble. The event will be held at the Whitney Farms Golf Club in Monroe on Monday, June 20.
Newtown Savings Bank will serve as title sponsor of the event, which is NSAâs major fundraiser, but additional sponsorships are available, including tee sponsors. All interested golfers are welcome to participate.
The cost of participation is $180 per golfer, which includes lunch, golf, reception, prizes, raffles and dinner at The Stone Barn Restaurant. Call Mark Fries at 203-426-8507 or Jim Morley at 203-426-8966 for more details.
Newtown Scholarship Association was established as a nonprofit organization in 1937 to promote and advance the education of secondary school graduates residing in Newtown, by providing financial aid to deserving students. In 1937, a single $50 scholarship was awarded. Today, more than 70 students annually receive scholarships exceeding $200,000.
In its history, NSA has helped more than 1,000 students achieve a postsecondary education, and awarded more than $3 million in scholarships.
