Newtown Bucks Program

One Year Old And Still Growing

Just a year ago, the Newtown Chamber of Commerce launched the gift certificate program called “Newtown Bucks.” Today, 30 businesses are participating.

The program is designed to be a convenient way to give a gift, while promoting local business. Newtown Bucks is a unique gift program because the recipient may choose where to use the certificate.

At this time of year certificates can be purchased for Father’s Day, grads, teachers, and coaches.

The Newtown Bucks gift certificate program is well-suited to accomplish the chamber’s goal of making sure money stays in the community.  Anyone can purchase one or more Newtown Bucks certificates in denominations of $10 and $25 through the chamber website www.newtown-ct.com or in-person at the chamber office in the lower level of Edmond Town Hall.

Newtown Bucks may be spent at any participating business.  A business must be a chamber member and pay a fee of $50 to participate in Newtown Bucks, but anyone can buy or use the certificates.

The current participating businesses are: A New Beginning Salon and Day Spa, Ace Hardware of Newtown, Ameriprise Financial, Attorney Anne M. Ragusa, Avance Esthetiques Day Spa, and Berkshire Motors.

Also Big Buddha Cigar Lounge, Black Swan, Captain Wood Carpentry, Dr Baum Orthodontics, John M. Popowich, DC, Drug Center Pharmacy, Ferris Acres Creamery, Great Finds & Designs, Hero Barbering, Lathrop School of Dance, McLaughlin Vineyards, My Place Restaurant, and Newtown Florist.

Other participants are Newtown Hardware, Newtown Parks & Recreation, Porco Karate Academy, Preferred Insurance Services, Rich’s Keys & Locks LLC, Sal e Pepe Contemporary Italian Bistro, Sugar Hill Service Center, Tambascio’s Italian Grill, Truly Yours, White Glove Cleaning, and Your Healthy Pet.

Updated listings including the newest participating businesses can be viewed at the chamber website. For questions regarding the Newtown Bucks Gift Certificate Program, contact Alice Baye at 203-426-2695.
