7- Year-Old Division

Hollandia Nursery vs Claris Construction: Hollandia Nursery overcame a slow start and found its groove in the bottom of the first inning. Peter Reelick led the offensive onslaught with four doubles and four RBI and Zander Kasbarian, Brendan Adams and Torin Kearney each slammed a double and collected 3 hits. Carter Ballard, Daniel DeBartolomeo and Walter Brady ripped 3 singles each and plated 3 runs. Hollandia was also sharp in the field with Joseph DiMaria covering a lot of ground in centerfield and Khal Bashawaty and Ryan Verdi were sharp at shortstop and first base. Thomas Speiser was solid at third and behind the plate, where he prevented 2 wild pitches. The Claris Construction Flaming Oranges played a great game on Saturday and were led by the hitting of Jack Petersen, George Sandercox, and Mason Woodward. Noah Clark, Travis McClay, Jake Mailloux, and Vinny Wilson hustled in the field all game and were outstanding running the bases.

Stratton Faxon Law vs Dr Baum Orthodontics: The Stratton Faxon Red Rockets put on a show to earn lots of cheering from their fans on Saturday. Stars of the game were Jimmy Dauber, who hit a double, some singles, and also made two force outs at second base; Connor Faxon, who also had a double, a few singles, and caught two pop-ups; and Andon Bambino, who doubled and had a few singles, and several putouts at first and second base on defense. Steven Cotton also doubled and fielded several nice groundballs for outs. Daniel Lounsbury had a few singles and a nice force out at third base. Miller Tetreault made some nice plays at shortstop, Colin Adis connected solidly for a few singles, and Zack Majeski used his speed to leg out a few singles.

The Dr Baum Orthodontics Blue Sharks were led by Tyler Harrison and Lewis Tomaj, whose very cerebral play on the corners recording numerous outs with heads-up plays. Will “The Thrill” Hornby’s best hit of the year would not be denied the outfield as it pulled the glove off the third baseman’s hand and carried it into left field. Timmy Vagneau batting clean-up kept runners crossing home plate and Jake Hossler played solid in the infield. James Celentano, James Ciaramello, Jackson Newsom and Trevor Jacozzi rounded out the sticky glove gang.

Art and Frame of Danbury vs Frate Custom Cabinetry: The Art and Frame of Danbury Killer Bees were led by the offensive hitting of Michael Early, Michael Ihlefeld, Zachary Katsuleres, and Liam O’Sullivan, who all ripped several singles. Aiden Gardner hit a rocket down the third base line and Wiley Harris hit a booming double to deep left field. Sean O’Sullivan contributed two doubles and Hayden Miller and Ryan Heran added doubles of their own. Hayden Miller made the defensive play of the game with a diving backhand stop at shortstop.

10 Year Olds

All State Insurance Bombadiers 6, Ferro Financial Green Machine 1: For the Bombardiers, strong pitching was provided by the quartet of Robert DiSibio, Derrick Lewis, Ryan Burns, and Tim Davis. Solid defense was provided by Alex Katsuleres and Jack Dooley, who split the second base assignment, while Luke Sansonetti and Ben Drew split time at third. The Bombardiers put up six runs in the win with key hits from Cole Demirjian, Burns, Dooley, and Sansonetti. The Green Machine struggled at the plate against the Bombadier pitching. Eli Holmes scored the lone run on an RBI single by Tyler Trede. Brandon Giglio played a tough second base with Michael Narducci strong at third. Luke Loudon also added defensive strength.

Monro Brake & Muffler Teal Eels 9, Ferro Financial Green Machine 6: Monro Brake & Muffler went five pitchers deep into its staff and needed a real team effort to hold off the Green Machine. The Teal Eels also combined great base running by Nick Stowell and Tommy Hasselberger with timely hitting by Robbie Morrill, Kyle Cascone, Luke Melillo, Tommy Phaenuef, Jimmy Davies, and Shane Demers to seal the victory. The Ferro Financial Green Machine’s offensive was led by an in-the- park home run by Jack Oltran ,while Kyle Roche led off the fourth with a fence-clearing home run. Tim Shaw doubled in Luke Loudon, and Tyler Trede and scored on throwing errors. Bobby Ward played strong in the field, with Jack Swanson key behind the plate.

Monro Brake & Muffler Teal Eels 8, Ferris Acres Creamery Red Gorillas 6: The Red Gorillas played well in a 8-6 loss to a strong effort by Monro Brake & Muffler. Harry Lucas had three hits, Ben Terry pitched well and Ryan Williams continued hot hitting to lead the Gorillas. In the field, Jeremy Fisher, Cody Camputaro, Jake Raiani, and Jamey Hobar hustled all game.

Sugar Hall Auto Orange Crush 10, Mobil 1 Lube Express Blue Devils 9: Supplying solid pitching for Sugar Hill Auto’s Orange Crush were Jack Miller, Sammy Kapur and Eric Moore. There was good defensive play provided by Jake Holman, Justin Kahn, Thomas Fitzgerald, and TJ Linse. Offensive power was supplied by Simon Preston, Doug Carriero, Travis Huzina. and Jack Forgione. The Blue Devils lost a close game on Saturday after jumping out to an early 7-run lead. Leading the hitting were Tess Davenport, Josh Dunn Andrew Lally, and David Kohler. On defense, the outfield was tested by the hitting of the Orange Crush, but key catches by Bay Ashe, David Kohler, and Dominic Scalzo prevented runs from scoring. The Blue Devils had solid pitching from Tess Davenport and Josh Dunn.

All State Insurance Bombardiers 4, Mobile 1 Lube Express Blue Devils 3: A good defensive game was played by both sides with All State Bombardiers prevailing in the end. For the Bombardiers, solid pitching by Cole Demirjian, Ryan Burns, Liam Deakin, Tim Davis, and Derrick Lewis kept the game close. On offense, Robert Disibio, Jackson Dooley, and Derrick Lewis all provided key hits driving in runs and contributing to the win. For the Blue Devils, Johnny Finnegan had a home run and David Kohler had a double and single. Brooks Petershack had a solid single driving in another run. Defensively for the Blue Devils Tess Davenport, Johnny Finnegan, and Brooks Petershack all had solid pitching while Andrew Lally, Bay Ashe, and Dominic Scalzo all contributed strong defensive plays keeping the game close.

Ingersoll Auto of Danbury Black Knights 5, Ferris Acres Creamery Red Gorillas 3: The Black Knights won a tough-fought game against the Red Gorillas on Saturday. It was a pitcher’s duel, with Robert Murray, James Clifford, James Heran, and Dillion Larkin leading the charge for the Knights. Jeremy Larking, Mason Fiorella, Matt Brantl, and Kevin Riccardi led the team on defense, while Matt Sadowski, Jack McDonbell, and Christoph Berg provided some solid offense.

Cal Ripken 11s

Stratton Faxon 7, Attorney Buzzi 7: Co-player of the week Ryan Kost hit well, and pitched well to ensure the tie. Tim Cervera and Henry Primavera led Buzzi on the mound and at the plate.

Grimes Times 11, Ingersoll Auto 10: Evan Kohlsaat stayed calm and retired the last two batters to preserve the victory in this back and forth contest. Ben Dieckman and Josh Ketchum hit well for the Grimey ones. Joe Palanzo hit a tremendous blast up and out of Glander Stadium for a three-run home run and an early Ingersoll lead. Luke Barrett, called up from the minors, laced a 2-run single to put the Automen back up in the fifth inning.

Newtown Pizza Palace 10, Ingersoll Auto 8: CJ Shembellan closed the door on Ingersoll Auto with great pitching for the pizzamen. Harry Eppers continued his hot hitting to lead the palace, while Graham Dowd starred for Ingersoll

Mandy Beckett Realtor 12, MSR Music 4: Co-player of the week Jeffrey Klein smacked 3 clutch hits and starred defensively for the hot-playing Beckett boys in the victory. Alex Dunleavy made a super running catch in defeat for MSR music

14/15 Division

Newtown Mobil 1 Lube Express 7, Danbury 3: Connor Roche picked up his third straight victory by going two innings in relief of Jim Parker, who started the game and pitched the first two innings. With the game tied 1-1 entering the third inning, the Express got to work with the bats, hanging a 4-spot on the board. Virgil Procaccini delivered a crushing 2-run double to plate, scoring Brandon O’Sullivan and Jim Parker. Harry Depuy came up two batters later and delivered a 2-run single of his own, to give the Express a 5-1 lead. Danbury would answer in the bottom of the third with a run of their own, making the score 5-2, which held up until the fifth inning. Procaccini led off the inning with his second straight double bringing up Julian Dunn, who brought the crowd to its feet with a 330-foot rocket to right center, missing a home run by only a couple of feet as it hit high up on the double-fenced outfield wall. That made the score 6-2 and provided The Express with all the cushion they would need to hold on for the win. Virgil Procaccini, Jim Parker, and Garrison Buzzanca all finished with two hits, and Connor Roche, David Vallerie, and Brandon O’Sullivan contributed singles.

Newtown Mobil 1 Lube Express 12, Ridgefield 6: The Express’s winning streak appeared in jeopardy as an energized Ridgefield club jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead after two innings. Newtown finally responded in the fourth as it rallied to put up 4runs and tie the game at 5. Jim Parker led off the inning with a double, followed by a walk to Virgil Procaccini. That set the stage for Julian Dunn, who responded with a booming triple to deep right field, plating Parker and Procaccini. Newtown added two more runs in the inning as the Ridgefield pitching staff had difficulty finding the plate. Ridgefield answered right back in the next inning with 1 run to take a 6-5 lead. The Express wouldn’t be denied as the team scored 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth with the help of singles by Connor Roche and Will Swain. Garrison Buzzanca provided the spark by making an emergency appearance on the mound. Buzzanca came on to get the final out in the second inning, and then went on to pitch two more innings of one-hit ball without allowing a run. The entire Express bullpen pitched brilliantly, only surrendering one hit in the final 5 1/3 innings to secure the victory.

Newtown Mobil 1 Lube Express 15, Watertown 1: The Newtown Express won its seventh straight game. Julian Dunn picked up the win by pitching three innings of two-hit ball. The Express exploded on offense pounding out 12 hits. Garrison Buzzanca went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Virgil Procaccini also contributed three hits, four RBI, and two runs scored. Kevin Conte also had a breakout game, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and four runs scored. Julian Dunn, Connor Roche, David Vallerie, and Jake Simonson all contributed singles in the win and Brandon O’Sullivan added three RBI and two runs scored.
