Police report that someone vandalized two South Main Street businesses by using spray paint to deface their exterior walls.

Police learned about 4:30 am June 7 that someone had vandalized the walls at Newtown Pools at 127 South Main Street and at Newtown Self-Storage at 137 South Main Street. The vandal also spray-painted the windshield of an auto parked outside Newtown Pools, police said.

The crime is first degree criminal mischief, representing more than $1,500 worth of damage.

Anyone with information on the vandalism is asked to contact police, who are investigating.
