Rooster Run/Walk

To the Editor:

On Saturday, June 4, the 31st Annual Rooster Run/Walk was held. We had a great turnout and the weather held out for us. This event attracted our area’s fastest runners to walkers with their children and babies in strollers. This is not only a very worthy cause as it benefits the Newtown Scholarship Association, but it was also a fun and rewarding time.

This worthwhile race could not have happened if it were not for the sponsorship and volunteering of so many.

I would like to thank the Newtown Police who did an outstanding job directing traffic! There were a lot of young children walking and in strollers, and our police officers made sure that everyone was safe.
