In The Garden Of Sophia
LITCHFIELD â The Marie Louise Trichet Gallery at Wisdom House has opened a new exhibition, called âIn the Garden of Sophia.â
The exhibit shows the process used by painter Hugh OâDonnell to create new chapel windows for Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center. Mr OâDonnell used a combination of traditional painting in oil on canvas, digital manipulation and laminated glass technology.
Mr OâDonnell, who lives in Washington (Conn.), is an internationally recognized artist and professor of painting at Boston University College of Fine Arts. His work is held in private and public collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; National Gallery, Washington, D.C.; Yokohama Museum of Art, Japan; The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield; and The Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
The new chapel windows will be installed this summer. The project is being supervised by Litchfield architect Clifford Cooper of Clifford A. Cooper, AIA Architecture.

Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center is an interfaith center which presents programs in spirituality, education, and the arts. It offers hospitality for group meetings and specializes in service to the not-for-profit community. The center is a ministry of the Daughters of Wisdom.
