Signs Of Dementia  At Lunch And Learn

You’ve lost your car keys, forgotten to mail a letter, and can’t recall the first name of your neighbor’s granddaughter.  Is it age-related memory loss, or is a sign of Alzheimer’s Disease?  Orestes Arcuni, MD, chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Danbury Hospital, will present “Signs and Symptoms of Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s Disease” at the June 20 Lunch and Learn Program sponsored by Ashlar of Newtown.

In addition to his chairmanship at Danbury Hospital, Dr Arcuni is a clinical professor of psychiatry at New York Medical College and is chairman of the Medical Education and Research Committee at Danbury Hospital.  Board certified in psychiatry, forensic medicine, and geriatric psychiatry, Dr Arcuni has published and presented extensively on topics related to geriatric, adolescent, and family psychiatry. He received his BA from Fordham University and his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College.  He is a member of American Academy of Psychiatry and Law, American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry, and the American Psychiatric Association.

This community program is the last in the 1999/2000 series of free seminars for mature adults about living and aging well, with the next season beginning in September. The event will take place at Lockwood Lodge, located at Ashlar of Newtown, 139 Toddy Hill Road in Sandy Hook. Doors open at noon and a complimentary lunch is served.  Pre-registration is required.  To register or learn more about upcoming programs, contact Hilda DeLucia at 364-3127.
