Moving Violations

Police report that they stopped motorist Daniel Pister, 26, of 12 Echo Valley Road to investigate near 40 South Main Street about 7 am on May 30.

Police said they charged Pister with driving with a suspended license and with driving an unregistered vehicle.

Pister was released on $100 bail for a June 12 appearance in Danbury Superior Court, police report.

Drug Charge

Police said they stopped motorist Jaime Davis, 25, of Bethel at about 4:30 pm on May 29 near 5 Queen Street for not wearing a seatbelt while driving.

Police said that with the assistance of their German shepherd, they found 23 methadone pills inside the vehicle that she was driving.

Davis was charged with failure to keep prescription narcotics inside their original container, failure to wear a seatbelt, and failure to carry a current automotive insurance identification card, according to police.

Davis was released from custody on $136 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on June 12, according to police.

Motorcycle Crash

Police report that motorcyclist Jonathan Andrejczyk, 31, of Monroe was riding a 1985 Honda CB-700-SC eastward on Berkshire Road, between its intersections with Sherman Street and Zoar Road, at about 11:25 pm on May 17, when Andrejczyk lost control of the motorcycle on a slight curve in the road and then drove onto right road shoulder where he dropped the motorcycle.

Andrejczyk was transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said. Andrejczyk received a verbal warning for making a restricted turn, according to police.

Subaru Vs Cadillac

At about 9:46 am on June 1, motorist Lynn Ferraro, 58, of 10 Hickory Lane, who was driving a 2005 Subaru Legacy sedan, was waiting on westbound Church Hill Road behind a westbound noncontact vehicle that was waiting at a red traffic signal near the entrance to westbound Interstate 84’s Exit 10 on-ramp, police said.

When the traffic signal turned green, the noncontact vehicle failed to move, so the Subaru attempted to back up in order to then drive around that vehicle, police report.

However, the Subaru inadvertently backed into the front end of a westbound 2010 Cadillac SRX SUV driven by Donald Trudeau, 72, of Trumbull, police said.

There were no injuries. Police said that Ferraro received a written warning for unsafe backing.

Currituck Road

Police report a two-vehicle accident on Currituck Road at its intersection with Kenan Road about 2:48 pm on May 27.

Motorist James Knox, 46, of 14 Sleepy Hollow Road was driving a 2009 Subaru station wagon westward on Currituck Road and then stopped for traffic conditions, after which the Subaru was struck from behind by westbound motorist Patrick Farrell, 31, of 5 Tower Road, who was driving a 1991 Nissan coupe, police report.

There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Farrell for following too closely.

Interstate Crash

Driver Kevin Vargas, 55, of Pascoag, R.I., was driving a 2000 Peterbilt tractor-trailer truck westward on Interstate 84, about one-half mile west of Exit 10, at about 11:25 am on May 31, when he slowed for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by a westbound 2003 Ford Taurus sedan driven by Jose Cabrera, 62, of Waterbury, state police said. The Ford was carrying four passengers, state police report.

There were no injuries. Cabrera received an infraction for following too closely, state police said.

 

I-84 Collision

Motorist Patricia Hauth, 47, of Oakville was driving a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV on Interstate 84 near Exit 10 at about 7:50 am on May 30 and then slowed for traffic conditions, after which the Hyundai was struck from behind by a 2002 Subaru Impreza driven by Kristopher Schreiner, 25, of Southbury, state police report.

There were no injuries. Schreiner received an infraction for following too closely, state police said.

 

Highway Accident

State police report that at about 3:47 pm on May 30 on eastbound Interstate 84 about one mile west of Exit 10, motorist Kellek Fontanez, 27, of Bristol drove a motor vehicle into the lane occupied by a 2009 Honda Accord driven by Donald Cyr, 56, of Oakville, resulting in Fontanez’s vehicle crashing into the Honda.

There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.

Swamp Road

Police report that at about 9:35 am on June 4, they spotted motorist Omar Sumra, 29, of Fairfield driving a vehicle 40 miles per hour westward near 9 Swamp Road in a posted 25-mph zone, so they stopped Sumra to investigate.

Police charged Sumra with traveling too fast and with driving with a suspended license. Police released Sumra on $100 bail for a June 15 court appearance.

Sandy Hook Center

Police report a two-car accident about 1:38 pm on May 29 near 100 Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook Center.

In that incident, motorist Gloria Walsh, 86, of 45 Riverside Road, who was driving a 2009 Hyundai Accent sedan, stopped for traffic conditions, and was struck from behind by motorist Sherril Paisley, 77, of 38 Walnut Tree Hill Road, who was driving a 2012 Honda CRV SUV, police said.

There were no injuries. Police said Paisley received a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Post Office

A two-vehicle accident occurred in the parking lot at the post office at 5 Commerce Road about 10:47 am on May 29, police said.

The accident involved motorist Cindy Glaberson, 54, of 2 Valley Field Road North, who was driving a 2007 Subaru Legacy station wagon, and motorist Doreen Donaldson, 62, of 24 Lyrical Lane, who was driving a 2007 Honda Accord sedan, police report.

There were no injuries. Police took no enforcement.

Intersection Accident

An accident happened at the four-way intersection of Hattertown Road, Key Rock Road, and Poverty Hollow Road about 7:50 am on May 29, according to police.

That accident involved motorist Juan Mejia, 36, of Norwalk, who was driving a 2007 Mazda 3 sedan, and motorist Gregory Stan, 54, of Waterbury, who was driving a 2001 Kia Sportage SUV, police report.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Mejia an infraction for driving without a license and also verbally warned Mejia for failure to grant the right of way.

Warrant

Police said that they arrested Maximilian Rojo, 24, of 27 Mountain Manor Road on a warrant on June 1, charging him with possession of narcotics in connection with a 2010 incident.

Police said they released Rojo on a written promise to appear on June 19 in Danbury Superior Court.
