The Phillies played three games this week to make up for some previous rainouts. Highlights for the Phillies were good pitching performances and some solid hits from Matthew Berard. Andrew Kugler had a solid hitting game. Julian Crone had a line drive hit and Thomas Speiser and Cameron Audet both had solid singles and all three pitched well, especially since it was the first time on the mound for Crone and Audet.

Defensively, shortstop Steven Cotton took advantage of the no infield fly rule and turned a double play with a tag and a force out. Sluggers included Andon Bambino who hit a bases-loaded, three-RBI double, Cotton hit a triple, and Connor Faxon had several solid hits. Colin Adis sparkled behind the plate at catcher. Adam Zibluk had two hits. Mason Woodard had some hits and played well at catcher. Steven Berard caught a line drive for an out and pitched very well.

Frate Custom Cabinetry & Winnick Steel: After a rainout on Saturday Frate & Winnick play a great game on Sunday. Pitchers Jackson Newsom, Josh Parsons, and James Celentano combined to record 8 strikeouts. David Braun and Ryan Verdi led the team in hitting again this week, and on defense Matt Williams, Zac Katsuleres, and Orion Bracksieck had a solid game in the field. The Landscaping Unlimited Yellow Jackets got rained out Saturday so they took the field Sunday afternoon instead. Asked if he thought the extra day of rest would help the team. RJ Eller said “Don’t know...maybe.” Tyler Harrison was more confident, saying, “I think it will be a big help. We’ve been playing hard all season and could really use the extra day of rest.” Apparently it did help as the Yellow Jackets started out with singles by Sam Cannizzo, Vinny Wilson, Devin Herbstman, Eric Gray, and Brian Pendergast. Eric Gray took the mound and made a great play connecting with Walker Previdi at first for the out. The great batting continued in the second inning with hits by Benjamin Ochs and Walker Previdi. Unfortunately, the rain was back by the end of the second inning so the game was called and tentatively rescheduled for Thursday.
