Holding Up Traffic
Holding Up Traffic
To the Editor:
To the mother who lives on Bungalow Terrace: it is extremely discourteous and rude to hold up traffic for your 10â15 minute conversations with our Newtown bus drivers! Three times this week I have been in traffic waiting as your child is getting on to the bus or disembarking from the bus while you have chatted with the driver. Not only are you disrupting her schedule, but you are disrupting the other drivers around the bus, who, by law, cannot drive around the âSTOPâ sign and flashing lights of the bus! I have been late for work two times and late getting home to my own children. If you have an issue that involves the behavior on the bus, special needs of your child while he/she is riding the bus, or the bus drivers capabilities in doing her job, you should direct your concerns to the Transportation Coordinators, Town of Newtown: Cathy Hydeck or Maritza Nezvesky 203-426-7613, so that you can discuss with them in a private meeting your concerns.
