Girl Scouts Donate To Pound Pets
They got to meet the dogs they would be helping and spend time with the animal control staff.
Girl Scout Troop 50478 members Friday, May 25, gave a donation of more than $150 that the girls raised through bake sales of homemade dog biscuits. The funds they gave to the pound accompanied an online $100 donation through Girl Scout cookie sales to the World Wildlife Federation.
âAs troop leaders we gave them ideas, and we had good ideas, and the love of animals exceeded the others,â said troop mother Michelle Greenspan.
Among the girls gathered at the pound was Carla Fabrizio, who nodded in agreement: âIt was a group decision.â
Michelleâs daughter Caitlyn Greenspan explained that the troop had needed a community service project. After looking at their options, she said, âWe wanted to help the dogs.â
âEveryone had a partâ in coordinating and selling the biscuits at Your Healthy Pet pet supply store, said Julie Tobin.
Caitlyn hopes that the money her troop gave to the pound will âmake their area to sleep more comfortable.â She and other troop members want residents to remember the pound and to support the pets.
