Charity Golf Classic

The 21st Kennedy Center Charity Golf Classic will be held on Monday, June 25. This year’s tournament will benefit the Kennedy Center Day Support Program.

Golfers also get a chance to mentor and support junior golfers throughout the state.  The concept of partnering junior golfers with adult golfers was first introduced to the tournament by the late Fred and Fran Ahlbin, long-time Fairfield residents.  This scholarship program has awarded over $200,000 to more than 425 young men and women golfers to pursue their college education.  Selection is based on academic achievement, school and community leadership, and golf proficiency and is open to junior golfers aged 15 through 18, who play free of charge in the 18-hole tournament.  This year’s Classic will be played at Shorehaven Golf Club, 14 Canfield Ave., Norwalk. The Junior Scholarship Awards sponsors include the family of Diane Thompson of Sandy Hook.

The tournament opens with registration and lunch at 11 am, followed by a shotgun tee-off format at 12:30 pm.  The evening’s festivities include a social hour, dinner, and awards beginning at 6 pm.

Sponsorship opportunities and player reservations are available by contacting at The Kennedy Center at 203-365-8522, ext 216 or visiting www.thekennedycenterinc.org.
