Golden Anniversary

Long time Newtowners Doris and Eugene Travis celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 1.

The Travises celebrated their golden anniversary at a party given by their children — Michele Travis, David Travis, and Sandra Lawson — on Sunday, June 3, at The Inn at Newtown.

Doris and Eugene are both retired after spending most of their careers at Fairfield Hills Hospital. They both enjoy spending time with their six grandchildren and excursions coordinated by the senior center.

Eugene has been a member of the Rod and Reel Club for more than 50 years and enjoys fishing and gardening, while Doris spends her time quilting, sewing, and time with the gang at the senior center.

The couple has lived in Newtown for 50 years.
