Music Center Honored For Community Commitment
BETHEL â Bethel Music Center, established in 1984 by a music educator with the purpose of supporting students of all ages in their pursuit of music, has been honored as a contributor to the Community Based Education & Training Program at Bethel High School.
The program, led by Fran Peters, gives students an opportunity to develop work skills in a real business environment. Twelve selected students will work in local businesses for ten plus hours each week to acquire skills related to the upkeep and maintenance of a retail business, as well as basic work-related expectations â punctuality, getting along with others, and time management.
Bethel Music Center volunteered to be a cooperating establishment, and through the workings of Mrs Peters and Mrs Dana Treidel of Bethel Music Center, had a student working in the store one to two days per week. Bethel Music Center is owned by Bruce Treidel, a music educator for over 25 years. His goal with Bethel Music Center is not only to provide the community with a superior music store and learning facility, but to give back to the town and to enhance the learning of young people whenever possible.
To culminate the work experience of the students, the Community Based Education & Training Program held an appreciation ceremony at Bethel Municipal Center. Bethel Music Center was one of several local businesses honored with a Certificate of Appreciation for their outstanding dedication and lasting contributions, their students but to the community at large.
