Former and current Newtown High School boys’ soccer players will converge on Blue & Gold Stadium next Thursday, at 7 pm, for an Alumni Soccer Game.

The game will benefit Joey Eckler, who is recovering from a brain tumor. The son of Rich and Laurie Eckler, Joey has undergone several surgeries and treatment regimes over his young life. His tumor began growing again and he had to start treatments in April 2003 to try to reduce it. Because his current treatment is experimental, insurance coverage is unavailable.

Alumni who have already confirmed to play include Brian Miles (Montclair State), Derek Miles (Eastern Connecticut State), Benja Tirigall (Eastern Connecticut State), Matt McFadden, Ryan Keogler (Franciscan University of Steubenville), Ryan Domingos, Ryan Tracy (University of Pennsylvania), Mike Troy (Fairfield University), Matt Pachniuk (Wheaton College), Kevin Quinn, Ryan Davies (St. Joseph’s University), Andrew Fiscella, Chris Hoagland (Castleton State),  Mike Nastri and Matt Taylor.

Any alumni wishing to play in the game, contact Mike Troy at 426-0486.
