Chase Collegiate School Celebrates  139th Commencement
WATERBURY â On Friday, June 1, M. Scudder Baggett, the son of Scott and Sherri Baggett of Newtown, graduated with the senior class at Chase Collegiate School in Waterbury at the 139th Commencement Exercises.
The graduates listened to a speech from one of the nationâs most prominent female entrepreneurs, Libby Bianchi Edelman, an alumna of Chase Collegiate School, as she spoke about the leadership opportunities that have shaped her career and the choices she has made. Ms Edelman encouraged the graduates to take risks in their careers and never look back along the way.
The graduates were also entertained by Jonathan Brinnier, who was unanimously selected to give the Senior Address by the faculty because of his âhumor, character, and devotion to the school.â Jonathan delivered humorous lines throughout his speech, including describing his class through the expression, âGood judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment.â
He explored his transition from a shy, apathetic freshman to a confident student capable of delivering an address in front of his peers, family, and teachers. Members of the Class of 2007 accepted their diplomas and celebrated with friends and family after the ceremony. They will attend colleges and universities in ten states and Canada.
Chase Collegiate School is an academically demanding coed day school in the classic independent school tradition for students in grades preK-3 through 12.
