AMERICAN LEAGUE

 

MITCHELL ARCHITECTURAL GROUP 9, NEWTOWN CAR WASH 6: Jason Smith and Jeremy Mitchell had two hits apiece to lead Mitchell to the win. Sean Matschke, Tom Santella and Scott Suhoza all made nice plays in the field. For the Car Wash, Chris Nuelle was 3-for-3 and Ryan Boucher had a double. Scudder Baggett and Evan Gregoire made nice plays in the field.

MITCHELL ARCHITECTURAL GROUP 10, CLEARHART CONSTRUCTION 6: Brian Conroy belted a home run and Tom Santella doubled to lead Mitchell to another win. Scott Shannon, Chris Elias and Scott Suhoza all pitched well. Sean Matschke was a vacuum at third. For Clearhart, Steve Marks cracked a pair of home runs and then aided his own cause, along with Ethan Canfield, with a fine performance on the mound. Mike Woessner, Albert Defillipe and Brian Stickles all had nice games in the field.

MITCHELL ARCHITECTURAL GROUP 12, NEWTOWN CAR WASH 4: Brian Conroy was 3-for-3 with four RBI and Scott Suhoza had a triple and two RBI to fuel the Mitchell offensive attack. Francis Oggeri made a diving catch in the outfield – and broke his thumb on the play. Chris Elias, Tim Larson and Danny Smith all pitched well. For the Car Wash, Brian Shimko was 3-for-3 and Tucker LaPak doubled. Jared Modzelewski and Chris Nuelle played well in the field while Tom Gaboriault pitched a solid game.

MITCHELL ARCHITECTURAL GROUP 3, BERLINER INSURANCE 1: Scott Suhoza and Jason Smith had two hits apiece to lead Mitchell at the plate. And, on defense, it was a 1-3-2 (Brian Conroy to Jeremy Mitchell to Tom Santella) double play that ended the game (Mitchell’s 10th double play of the season). For Berliner, Dave Berliner had a nice hit while John O’Brien and Bobby Davenport played well in the field.

NICK’S RESTAURANT 5, PACKAGE AUTOMATION 2: Ryan McGrath had a pair of hits while Cody Shpunt, Kevin Cahalane and Kurtis Liska hit the ball hard to lead Nick’s Restaurant. Joe DeVellis pitched well and Kevin Jurasek sparked the defense. For Package, Tucker Kass was 2-for-3 and Tom McDade hit the ball hard. Greg Rodden and Mike Maher played well in the field while Joe Bowen and Joe Greenfield both had solid pitching performances.

NICK’S RESTAURANT 14, CLEARHART CONSTRUCTION 2: Jake Benson tripled, Chris Tomascak doubled, and Danny Giorno drove in a run to lead Nick’s Restaurant. Kurtis Liska and Benson combined on the mound and allowed just four hits for Nick’s, which finished the regular season at 12-2. For Clearhart, Nick Urso and Brendan Martin both had hits while Martin also pitched two solid innings.

Playoffs

 

CLEARHART CONSTRUCTION 2, BERLINER INSURANCE 0: Stephen Marks belted a home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift Clearhart Construction to a thrilling win in the first round of the American League playoffs. Mike Chapin had doubled to lead off the inning and Marks followed with his bomb over the left field wall. Marks, Chapin and Brendan Martin all combined on the mound to pitch eight scoreless innings. For Berliner, PJ Cochrane, Joe Rahtelli and Billy Spencer combined to pitch seven scoreless innings in this drama-filled contest.

 

NATIONAL LEAGUE

 

DRUG CENTER 7, JURMAN METRICS 5: Jim Gaston tripled and drove in three runs while Croy Carlin was 2-for-3 with three RBI to lead Drug Center to the win. Kevin Davies and Zack Leighton also had key hits. Derek Charbonneau and Anthony Klabonski played well in the field. For Jurman Metrics, Scott Perry and Walter Murphy had key hits and Sam Paproski pitched three scoreless innings.

WALKER INDUSTRIAL 12, CLASSIC DESIGNS 1: Ryan Clark doubled twice, Collin Babbage was 2-for-2, and those two players – along with Sean Ryan – combined to score eight runs to lead Walker Industrial. Jim Pope and Clark combined on the mound for 11 strikeouts. For Classic Designs, Adam Nanavaty had a pair of hits while Pat Daly and Travis Hunter played well.

AUTOMATED SECURITY SYSTEMS 8, JURMAN METRICS 7: Dan DeLaVega belted a three-run triple, Chris Schrieber homered and James Post singled and tripled to lead Automated Security to the win. Nathaniel Basch-Gould played well in the field. Nick Smith picked up the save. For Jurman Metrics, Chris Meier had two hits and two runs scored. Sam Paproski also hit the ball hard as Ryan Wilson and Walter Murphy had good games.

AUTOMATED SECURITY 9, BISCOE EXCAVATING 8: Chris Schreiber had three hits and scored three times to lead Automated Security to the win. Justin Lemma and Nick Smith both smacked triples. Andrew Frank played well in the field. For Biscoe, George Martens and Max Hoagland led the offense, Sean Myslewski pitched well, and Matt Biscoe made some good plays in the field.

DRUG CENTER 9, CLASSIC DESIGN 3: John Nelson (key hit), Zack Leighton (2-for-2), Mike Shannon (two hits) and Derek Charbonneau sparked the offense and led Drug Center to the win. Jeff Peterson played well in the field. For Classic Design, Kyle DiNicola had a pair of hits and made some solid defensive plays. Kevin Herring also played well in the field while Travis Hunter pitched three scoreless innings.

GRUCE TILE 20, BRAUTIGAM LAND SURVEYORS 8: Ken Cardelle lined a bases loaded double to knock in three runs and lead Gruce Tile to the win. Carlos Fuentes added a pair of RBI and Alex Hennesy hit well in pacing the offense. Brautigam was led by Robert Harmony and the fine defensive play of catcher Dan Bunger.

MINORS

 

NATALIA KERLER 12, SUGAR HILL AUTO 1: Drew Woods went 3-for-4 with three RBI and Jimmy Poe was 3-for-3 to pace Natalia Kerler to the win. Charlie Lobosco fanned 11 batters and John Grimaldi played solid defense at first. For Sugar Hill, Michael Iorfino paced the offense while Michael Aurelia and Ryan Burch played well in the field.

BASE TECHNOLOGIES 12, NATALIA KERLER 10: Nick Saviano tripled, doubled twice, and drove in five runs to fuel the BASE Technologies offense. Brenden Deveney drove in three runs while Stephen Berg and Ian Cooper made great plays in the field. Ian Mason pitched well, striking out seven. For Natalia Kerler, Doug Kissack had a pair of hits and two RBI while Mitch Bloomberg scored three runs. Pete Wlasuk and John Grimaldi made fine plays in the field.

CURTISS & CRANDON REAL ESTATE 4, TRENDSETTERS INTERNATIONAL 3: Shane Wurtz and Matthew Datin banged out two hits apiece to lead Curtiss & Crandon to the close win. Patrick Harris displayed strong infield play while Daniel Lynch pitched a solid game. For Trendsetters, Max Nacewicz had two hits – including a long triple – to fuel the offense. Pitcher Ryan Korth and first baseman Steven Zvon played well.

HICKEY SEPTIC 7, FLAGSHIP COMMUNICATIONS 3: Zach Baudisch and Ryan Polo led the Hickey Septic offense in the win. Joe Maggio, Sean Kennedy and Alex Saviano combined on the mound. For Flagship, Theo Hartlett clubbed a two-run homer while Kyle McCarthy, Brad Biscoe and Daniel Tomascak played well.

AMARAL MOTORS 7, WENTWORTH LABS 4: Kyle Packer and Evan Kennedy each went 2-for-2 to pace Amaral Motors. Sean Deveney and Jordan Ashby sparkled on defense while Sean Maher pitched a solid game. For Wentworth, Gary Frey and Joshua Zimmerman led the offense while Ashley Perry and Kyle Morse anchored the defense. Stephen Clark also pitched well.

STONY BROOK 6, HICKEY SEPTIC 3: RJ Roman tripled and Richard Andreotta doubled to power the Stony Brook offense. Alex Nordstrom and Chris Giglio pitched well and Eric McCabe played well in the field. For Hickey, Alex Shaviano pitched a strong sixth inning, whiffing three batters. Stan Kennedy, Keith Reloy and Kyle Bella all hit the ball well. Thomas Anderau sparkled on defense in centerfield.

NEWTOWN LIMOUSINE 6, NEWTOWN HARDWARE 6: Mike Bunger, JJ Savarase, Tim Zarafis and Matt Mascola played well for Newtown Limo while Charlie Kerr, Mike Lago, Rob O’Donnell and Ryan Dilworth had good games for Newtown Hardware.

NEWTOWN HARDWARE 7, NEWTOWN BEE 0: Andrew Meisel was 3-for-3 and Mac Fuller had a pair of singles to lead Newtown Hardware to the win. Kevin Bonacci and Jake DeVellis hooked up for a great defensive play at home and Justin Craparo made a solid grab in rightfield. For the Bee, Joe Selezan and Max Rochwarger paced the offense while Garrett Uhde shined on defense.

DANBURY HEALTH 13, EDWARDS CONSTRUCTION 3: Ralph Sergiovanni and Nick Nazer had three hits apiece as Danbury Health rolled to the win. Robbie Blanc and Jeff Spencer combined on the mound. For Edwards, Matt Hamitlon and Tim Plodinec powered the offense, Kevin Carney and Brian Cawley led the defense, and Will Werner pitched well.

FLAGSHIP COMMUNICATIONS 15, TENDSETTERS INTERNATIONAL 3: Theo Hartlett, Cody Fisher, and Christian Gregoire all went 3-for-3 to lead Flagship to the win. Jimmy Kimball and Brad Biscoe pitched well. For Trendsetters, Will Northrop cracked a hard double, Ryan Korth doubled, and Amanda Swift singled to spark the offense. Steven Zvon and Shamus Boyle played well in the field.

NEWTOWN POLICE UNION 6, A&D SPORTS 2: Daniel Cragen and Kyle Kromberg led the offensive attack and Kyle O’Connor and Andrew Nichols led the defense for Newtown Police Union. Kevin O’Connell and Garrett Sando also pitched well. For A&D, TJ Faeth, Alexander Norwich and Dan Greenwood all played well.

WENTWORTH LABS 5, FLAGSHIP COMMUNICATIONS 2: Joshua Zimmerman and James Truckle sparked the Wentworth offense in the win. John Wlasuk pitched well while Tom Murphy and Steve Clark sparkled on defense. For Flagship, Steve Zarafis belted a home run, scored a pair of runs, and pitched well. Cody Fisher also hit well while Brad Biscoe, Mike Ruddy and Mike Herring all played well in the field.

ROOKIES

 

DANZIGER HOMES versus B&K SEPTIC: Jake Tolson, Patrick Binio, Michael Lengel and Donny Morrissey played well for B&K.
