SANTA FE SUMMER SHOW EXPANDS WITH MODERN WORKS JULY 5 w/3 cuts
avv/gs set 6-7 #702620
SANTA FE, N.M. â The Santa Fe Summer Show, a firmly established fixture of the early summer season since 1996, will return July 5â8. The show expands its scope to include five centuries of art and design, showing antique to contemporary design from Seventeenth through Twentieth Centuries.
Again at El Museo Cultural de Santa Fe, the show will feature 50 antiques, fine arts and contemporary galleries offering works from all continents and representing all aesthetic periods.
The Santa Fe Summer Show will open Thursday, July 5, with a gala benefit preview reception from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. All proceeds from the preview will support the Animal Foundation of New Mexico, a charity that develops new funding sources for the stateâs numerous animal welfare agencies and organizations. The $75 ticket also includes run-of-show admission.
The show continues Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm and Sunday, from 11 am to 5 pm. Admission during the showâs regular hours is $12 per person, with three-day passes available for $15. Children 16 and under are admitted free. This summer, a free subscription to Western Interior Design will be included in admission price. El Museo Cultural is at 1615 Paseo de Peralta.
Whether a collector, a decorator or someone looking for the object to bring new dimension to a room, the show provides a wide selection of antiques, folk art and contemporary fine art, including European, American, Asian and African works; textiles and carpets; specialty books; important paintings drawings and prints; architectural antiques; jewelry and gems; fine furniture and American Indian and ethnographic antiques and fine art.
Since an original presentation in December of 1995, John Morrisâs The Antiques Shows (TAS) have evolved from primarily Southwestern, Native American and ethnographic antiques to broader events, showcasing fine examples of antiques and contemporary works in many fields.
