Music is a part of every young personâs life. How would you describe todayâs music â whatâs âcoolâ with kids â to adults? How do you listen to it? What do you listen to? What are some trends?
Jordan Rancourt: âA lot of kids like to play it loud. They like pop music, rap music, and they like to listen to one or the other. Thereâs a lot of variety.â
Jesse Briden: âMusic today makes you feel differently â different music makes you feel different ways. I like rock, but some might like different music.â
Farlay Miller: âTodayâs music is mostly pop music. Boy bands and Britney Spears. There are a lot of idols. Theyâre good looking and appeal to the teenage scene. Students feel like they can relate to them.â
Steve Giacolone: âItâs full of people who canât sing but have pretty faces and marketers just use them to take advantage of the teen pop market.â
Chantal Thompson: âSome of it is kind of violent, but most of it sends a good message and helps kids with their problems.â
Lindsey Coyle: âSome music gives a really good message and you can relate to it, but some can be really violent and send a bad message to teens.âÂ
